The Assembly Place-TS Group JV bags contract for foreign healthcare workers’ lodging facilities
MOH Holdings had released a demand for recommendation in August of last year to designate an operator to retrofit uninhabited structures and manage hostel-type housing for recent offshore healthcare workers on 5 areas, covering the areas at 1A Short Avenue, 107 Circuit Road and 36 and 38 Teck Whye Crescent. 1A Short Street is the spot of a past student hostel, while the last two are spots of previous colleges.
A joint business between Singapore co-living operator The Assembly Place and TS Group, a provider of large-scale holiday accommodation for international personnels and the elderly, has already become part of an agreement with MOH Holdings to create, retrofit and operate 3 lodging facilities for overseas healthcare employees who are unfamiliar to Singapore. The buildings stand at 1A Short Street, 36 and 38 Teck Whye Crescent, and 207 Circuit Road.
The improved facilities will include a co-living idea centred around neighborhood living. “We know that several [foreign healthcare staffs] are leaving their home countries for the very first time, so it is really necessary to produce a secure and comfortable environment for them,” says Eugene Lim, founder and CEO of The Assembly Place.
He continues: “By team up with operators to establish assimilation programs, we want to polish the transition for our new health care employees to assimilate into Singapore’s healthcare system.”
” As the holding company of Singapore’s public healthcare organizations, MOH Holdings is committed to constructing a supportive setting for our medical care professionals and guaranteeing a sustainable workforce pipeline,” says Deric Liang, deputy CEO, group finance and CFO of MOH Holdings.
Lim adds that the alliance between TS Group and The Assembly Place are going to draw on the former’s comprehensive expertise in operating large-scale hotels places and the latter’s stability in community-building. “We anticipate producing significant rooms and functions to welcome the healthcare specialists,” he states.
The lodging establishment at Short Road is intended to be operational by the 2nd fifty percent of this year, while the other two spots will welcome healthcare professionals in 1H2025. Together, the facilities are anticipated to accommodate 1,180 international health care personnels.
